Welcome to America is the forthcoming album from The Jet Stone Conspiracy, the artistic world of singer-songwriter and record producer Jet Stone.
Jet’s journey in America began by chance through the Green Card lottery, bringing him to Minneapolis, where he started performing locally before making his way to Los Angeles to record his debut album, Tales of America. The album was released under the name Ondara—a name borrowed from his grandfather—and went on to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Americana Album.
Two more records followed: the pandemic-era Folk n’ Roll, Vol. 1: Tales of Isolation and the character-driven Spanish Villager No:3, each marking a different chapter in an unfolding story of self-discovery and the pursuit of creative freedom.
Tales of America captured the romance of a newly arrived immigrant encountering America through the promise and mythology of the American dream. Nearly a decade and two records later, Jet has lived inside that dream long enough to encounter the country in all its complexity—and has recently become an American citizen himself.
Welcome to America begins from this new vantage point—shaped by the distance between the America one imagines and the America one comes to know. As the country wrestles with questions of who belongs, who gets to be American, and what being American means, Jet finds himself wrestling with those same questions throughout the
album.
Before its release, Jet will present Welcome to America live for the first time at the Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles, every Monday in October, joined by a collective of musicians bringing the new record to life onstage.
The “Conspiracy” finds its meaning in the Latin conspirare—“to breathe
together”—reflecting an artistic world rooted in collective experience and the intention of bringing people together through music, one gathering at a time.
